Robusta coffee cherries grow at an altitude of 800m at a temperature of 22 - 30℃. Robusta coffee contains a proportion of 2 - 4.5% more caffeine than Arabica coffee and is therefore less sensitive. Caffeine is insecticide, with which the coffee plant protects itself from pests and bacteria. However, caffeine is also bitter, which is why Robusta coffees are often not well balanced and tend to have a strong to earthy taste.
At 19grams, we work only with Arabica beans to tease out unique aromas and flavors from each coffee.
