Sweetness

An important component of a coffee flavor profile is sweetness. A natural sweetness is created when coffee is brewed.

However, it is essential to maintain the balance. If the coffee is under-extracted, the sweetness cannot emerge. If, on the other hand, the coffee is over-extracted, the sweetness is masked by bitter substances. When the balance is right, you can taste the subtle notes of brown sugar or maple syrup in your cup.
