Mattari is grown in Bani Mattar, which is west of the Yemeni capital Sanaa, and is one of the best coffees grown in Yemen. It usually develops a vinous acidity and has a slightly sharper character than the earthy character typical of Yemeni coffee.
Mocha Mattari coffee has a slightly heavier body and usually tastes particularly chocolaty.
