Industrial Coffee

Industrial coffee is coffee in which the focus is not on enjoyment and artisanal production, but primarily on cost efficiency. Industrial coffee is roasted quickly in large quantities because time and cost are closely linked. In hot-air roasting, the coffee beans are heated to temperatures of up to 600 or even 800 degrees Celsius within a few minutes. The beans are then cooled and vacuum-packed. The high temperatures cause many of the flavors in the coffee to be lost, which means that industrial coffee can no longer have complex flavor profiles.
