The Menglian growing area is a new coffee growing area on the border between China and Myanmar. The border area is higher than the other growing areas in Yunnan. Due to the strong temperature difference between day and night, the coffee cherries can ripen more slowly and develop more flavors. The quality of Catimor varieties in this region is much better than other lower altitude growing areas in Yunnan. There is no severe cold in winter and no extreme heat in summer. The region offers great micro-climatic conditions for coffee cultivation, growth and processing.
