The fruit or the coffee cherry

The fruit of the coffee is called the cherry. The coffee bean represents half of the kernel of the coffee cherry. Coffee is in fact a fruit. In fact, coffee is not a bean, but the kernel of the coffee cherry. Especially in light to medium-dark roasted coffees from Africa or Central America, you can therefore taste a distinct fruity note.
