2. December | Hacienda Montecristo - Honduras Capsule

Hazelnut, Dark Chocolate, Cherry

About the coffee

As the largest coffee producer in Central America, a coffee from Honduras is an absolute MUST in our advent calendar. Our choice is a washed coffee of the Pacamara variety. This cross between the Pacas and Maragogype varieties is known for its remarkable size. Hacienda Montecristo has made a name for itself by producing coffees with a balanced body, deep flavour, rich aroma and medium acidity. The flavour profile is compelling with notes of intense nutty hazelnut, slightly bitter chocolate and tart fruity cherry.

About the farm

Hacienda Montecristo is located in the Mayan mountains of the municipality of Veracruz in the department of Copán, 15 kilometres from the provincial capital of Santa Rosa, in western Honduras. Coffee has been grown there since 1916. At an altitude of 1100 to 1200 metres above sea level, the climate is mild and subtropical. The coffee enjoys national and international recognition for its unique qualities and is certified by the Rainforest Alliance.

Cultivation

Cultivated with love by great farmers. 100% Arabica coffee, harvested when ripe and carefully processed. Sustainable and fairly traded.

Packaging

The 19grams capsule advent calendar is 100% recyclable and made from 100% recyclable materials. Even the capsules are compostable.

It doesn't get any greener than this!

Brewing

Our capsules contain 7g of coffee - that's a little more than commercial capsules from other suppliers like Nespresso. Therefore, use a little more water when brewing - like a lungo.

Bloody Good Advent

Since 8 years we roast the unique Coffee Advent Calendar. Now finally capsule compatible.
