The farm | Grupo Lovene San Jaun Ozolotepec

Located in the state of Oaxaca in the south west of Mexico, the Grupo Lovene San Juan Ozolotepec coffee farm enjoys a diverse climate ideal for growing coffee. The Comunidad San Andrés Lovene is nestled in a valley, not far from Mexico's southern coastline. Located between 1500 and 1900 metres above sea level, the Grupo is made up of several smaller Fincas, who hand-harvest their cherries at their ripest point before delivering them to the group's central processing facility.

Here, the coffee is pulped, fermented for 24 hours, and then filled into a tank where any remaining mucilage, slime or detritus is washed away with clean water. These freshly laundered beans are then laid out onto beds to be dried.

Bloody Good Filter

Coffee is a fruit with many natural fruit acids. We roast our coffees to bring out these acids, but also to bring out the sweetness. When our roasters develop a flavour profile for a filter coffee, they make sure to use a slightly lower temperature. In our coffees, we bring out the natural flavour profile of each variety, but also of the terroir of Origin.
