About this coffee

This washed coffee from Papua New Guinea is characterised by a great balance between caramel sweetness and a balanced acidity reminiscent of ripe red grapes. When drinking it, we really like the clear body and the pleasantly sweet aftertaste. Fresh from the roaster, we taste notes of black tea, grapefruit and a praline-like sweetness.

Map PNG

The farm | Kunjin

This coffee was grown by small holding farmers from the Wahgi Valley in the north of PNG, each with about 2,500 coffee trees on their one-and-a-half hectare plots. They sell their harvest to centralised mills, where the cherries are sorted, depulped, and then dry fermented for 24 hours. They are then washed, removing all the mucilage and parchment from the beans which are finally dried out for tree to six days until they reach the desired moisture content, when they can be sacked up and shipped.
