About this coffee

This Arabica espresso is from the oldest coffee plantation in India. It grows at an altitude of 1500 meters in the South Indian Bababudangiri Mountains. It consists mainly of the variety selection 795. This is an Arabica bean, which was bred in 1946 and is of high quality and taste. The Plantation 'Ramgiri Estate' covers 165 hectares and is surrounded by 12 mineral-containing fresh water sources.
The name 'Little Flower' stands for the wild Kurinji flower, which is known to flourish only every twelve years. On the plantation, the coffee cherries are hand-picked late in harvest so that they have had plenty of time to ripen and develop. The farmer's place great importance on sustainable cultivation as well as animal welfare. This respectful behavior is rewarded not only with a unique coffee flavour, but also with great diversity of flora and fauna in the area. In addition to snakes and birds, such as thrushes, parakeets and woodpeckers, there are also Langour monkeys, leopards and tigers walking freely through the plantation.
