Aeropress Inverted

Aeropress

The Aeropress is one of the newest manual coffee machines on the market. It was invented in 2005 by the US American Alan Adler, who also invented the world's fastest Frisbee disc. Two things were important to the inventor: compact design and delicious results - and he more than succeeded with the Aeropress. The Aeropress is particularly popular for travelling, as its sturdy material makes it virtually invulnerable. But it's not just to-go that it looks good, the unusual brewing method is also becoming increasingly popular at home, as it prepares particularly pure coffees and is suitable for both filter and espresso roasts. If you don't own an Aeropress yet, you can do so with a click.

Aeropress-prepping:
ingredients:
19gr of your favourite 19grams Coffee
200ml filtered water (if you buy your Water, we recommend Brands like Spree Quell, Volvic oder Lausitzer)

What you need:
Aeropress
Aeropress Filterpapers
Coffee grinder
Digital Scale
Timer
Kettle
Cup

Brewing Method (inverted)
1. bring the water to the boil, then wait 30-60 seconds for it to cool down to about 96°C.

2. place the paper filter in the Aeropress lid and wash it out (this prevents paper-like taste in the finished coffee).

3. Push the press plunger with the rubber seal approx. 1cm into the brewing cylinder (approx. up to the marking number 4), the lid with the washed filter still remains off.

4. Turn the Aeropress upside down so that the rubber seal is facing up, and the brewing cylinder is on top.

5. Grind 19g of filter coffee with a medium to fine grind (you can experiment with this).

6. Place your Aeropress on the scale, add the coffee grounds and tare.

7. Pour 200g of the 96°C water into the Aeropress and start your timer.

8. Stir the water vigorously so that the coffee is extracted evenly.

9. Now open the lid and press the press plunger a little deeper to squeeze out all the air bubbles.

10. After 1.5 minutes, place the cup upside down on the Aeropress and turn it upside down with some momentum.

11. Now press the plunger down hard, this should take about 15-30 seconds, you will hear a hissing sound.

12. Remove the lid, press the coffee puck into the organic waste and rinse the Aeropress briefly - it is immediately ready for use again.

13. If you like, you can dilute your finished coffee a little more - for a cup of filter coffee we recommend another 100ml of hot (not boiling) water. If you prefer it a little stronger, you can also drink the coffee as it comes out of the Aeropress.

14. Drink and enjoy!
